Hampton Happenings Board of
Director’s Corner Freezing Up! If you have plans
to go away for an extended period of time this winter please remember
some of the following tips. 1) Leave your unit’s heat on at a moderate
setting. 2) Leave kitchen and bathroom sink cabinet doors open to allow
the heat to reach your pipes. You may also want to allow water to drip
from your faucet to allow water flow to continue. This reduces the risk
of your pipes freezing. Apparently some of the Hampton Court Condo owners don’t realize that there is no recycling at the condo’s. Leaving separated bags of newspapers and empty boxes on the outside of the Dumpsters only creates a nuisance for other owners, the trash removal company and management who usually gets stuck with manually throwing these items into the containers and/or breaking down peoples boxes. If you care to recycle your plastic, glass and paper products you can do so by dropping it off at the nearest recycling drop off point. The Frederick County Recycling Center is just a few miles away on Reichs Ford Rd. or on East Street in Frederick across from where Wolf’s Furniture used to be. You can contact the Recycling Center at 301- 696-2960. Please throw all of your trash into the Dumpster, not on the ground. There is no recycling or bulk trash removal. Unmoved Vehicles Management would like to remind residents who have vehicles parked for a period of thirty (30) days or longer must be reported to management by calling 301-620-0782. Thank you for your cooperation. Book Mobile Information The Frederick County Book Mobile will be at the Visitor Center parking lot on Monday, February 14th and Monday, February 28th, 2005 from 3pm to 7pm. For additional information about Library Services, call Extension Services at 301-694-1615. Reserve Investments The Board of Directors is looking into investing some of the funds from the Capital Reserves for Hampton Court Condominium. The Capital Reserves are funds being set aside each month for future replacement of structural aspects of the property like the roofs, concrete sidewalks and parking lots, just to name a few. The interest rates for CD’s currently seem to range from 1.75% to 3.55% for longer term instruments. The Reserve study anticipates some Capital Reserve Expenditures starting in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The Board has the responsibility to manage the funds of the association, which they do not take lightly. The Board is very conscientious and will make conservative, safe decisions about the investments. Parking Courtesy This is just a reminder about parking courtesy. We all get busy and sometimes forget to remember our neighbors. If you have multiple vehicles but you often only drive primarily one of them, please park your second vehicle in the peripheral areas away from the fronts of the buildings. As you are well aware, parking is at a premium because developers usually only provide the minimum parking spaces allowed by the county. Thank you.
