Middle School Level Basketball |
Frederick County Public Schools does not sponsor basketball programs at the Middle School level, so now students can represent their school in the Mid-Maryland Basketball League. Try-outs for boys and girls will be held in October 2010. Teams are usually 10-12 players depending on coaching decisions. There is a financial obligation of a $100.00 league fee for players selected. For information about both boys and girls leagues, please visit the following websites:

From the Manager’s Desk: Political Signs |
We have received many calls regarding the HOA’s ruling on political signs. And of course, we have seen them in common property and on private lots. The Maryland Homeowners Association Act addresses this matter in Section 11B-111.2 titled Candidate or proposition sign paragraph (c) (3) which states, “If a limitation to the time period during which signs may be displayed in not specified by a law of the jurisdiction in which the homeowners association is located, to a time period not less than: (i) 30 days before the primary election, general election or vote on the proposition; and (ii) 7 days after the primary election, general election or vote on the proposition”. The Spring Ridge Conservancy, Inc. Covenants are silent with respect to specific reference to political signs. Below is a simple chart that will show when political signs can be up and when they must be removed.
Primary Election: September 14th (Signs can go up on August 14th AND must be removed by September 21st.) General Election: November 2nd (Signs can go up on October 2nd AND must be removed by November 9th)
For those homeowners planning on displaying a political sign please adhere to Maryland Law. The Maryland HOA Act only refers to private lots. No political signs will be allowed on Spring Ridge Common Property. |
