School Board Meeting: Spring Ridge/Oakdale Schools On The Agenda
The Frederick County Board of Education has a meeting scheduled for April 17, 2002, at 6:00PM. The meeting will take place at 115 E. Church Street. Spring Ridge and Oakdale schools are on the agenda to be discussed. The Board will allow public comments of 3 minutes per person. If interesting in speaking at the meeting, you will need to sign up before the meeting begins.

Construction On Basin E
The developer will begin work on the asphalt path between Spring Forest Road and Claridge Drive North. The work is scheduled to begin in April and will continue for about 6 weeks, weather permitting. The work in this area will be extensive because it has to do with sediment work on basin E, which is the pond near the basketball/ tennis court area. The parking lot near the playground on Spring Forest will become the staging area for all of this work. Due to the crowding of the parking lot we are requesting that you please do not park in front of the homes on Spring Forest Road if you are not a resident there. Closing the playground may be necessary to ensure the safety of Spring Ridge children (depending upon the extensiveness of work being done). Please look for the barricades to know if/when the playground is closed. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you or your children.

Board of Directors Corner
1) Residents are reminded that the tennis courts are not skateboard parks. Signs will be put up indicating that ONLY tennis is allowed on the court. We hope the tennis players will appreciate the new nets. One option being explored is to have the courts locked; keys would then be made available to Spring Ridge residents.
2) The Common areas, particularly the soccer field/playground off Spring Forest Road and Basketball courts, are not intended for vehicle traffic. If you see cars driving on the soccer fields, or think that under age drinking is taking place in the common areas please call the Frederick Co. Sheriff's Dept. 2) Basin Area E will have work done on it beginning in April. To accomplish this, the construction equipment will be staged near the excavation site. The developer will begin to mark this area, so the residents can plan alternate parking during the excavation.
3) Residents having concerns about the pool usage, and designated event nights, are encouraged to attend the pool committee meeting. They meet on the first Monday of the month at the Visitors Center.
4) Spring Ridge residents interested in joining the landscaping club, are asked to contact Richard or Kelly. Also, there will be Spring Ridge Clean up day in the Spring. More details on this community activity to follow.

Weed Control
Spring is here! It's that time of year again for STM to apply a pre-emergent product for weed control. This process will be during the 2nd week in April. Essentially, stay off of the grass until the product is dry (this includes pets also). STM will be placing signs out on the grass to keep you informed. Keep a watch out for the signs.

Community Concerns

Barking Dogs: According to Article II Section 1-5-26 in the Frederick County Ordinances it states: "a.) It shall be unlawful for an owner to allow his/her dog to repeatedly bark or make other harsh or excessive noise, so as to any dog or cat owner to permit, either willfully or through failure to exercise due care or control, his/her dog or cat to repeatedly bark, cry, howl, whine or cause other objectionable noises which disturb the comfort, peace, quiet or repose of members of the community residing in the vicinity as reflected by reasonable persons with normal sensitivities to noise." What to do: Call Animal Control at 301-694-1544.

Pool Passes: Pool passes are for residents only. All others wishing to use the pool will need to use a guest pass and come with a full time resident. Information for the pool passes must be filled out completely or you pass will not be able to be made. Phone numbers are for emergencies only and will not be distributed. Unless your name appears on the mortgage or you are a spouse and or child, you will need to show proof of residency. A photocopy of your driver's license is sufficient. If you are a renter, you will need a letter from the owner relinquishing their pool privileges.

Reminder Letters: If you are in receipt of a "Friendly Reminder Letter" in regards to touch-up painting/repairs, this is just a "heads up" of a job that will need to be done once weather permits. So, take time now to set up an appointment with a contractor for anything you may need repaired/painted. We will give you sufficient time to get your painting and repairs complete and make your home bright and beautiful for the summer season.

Grass Clippings Reminder: ADS will only pick up 3 bags of yard waste per house per pick up. Yard waste includes grass clipping/trimming but not bulk shrubs, trees, sod or rocks. ADS' contract does not include any bulk pick up. The county does a bulk pick up once a year.
