March 2003
POOL SEASON
IS COMING...
The
pool will open this year on May 24th so pull out your passes! As you recall,
your community went to permanent pool passes beginning last pool season.
Homeowners were advised to keep these passes in a safe place during the
Winter months. Anyone who can not locate their pass should contact management
at the Visitor’s Center for a replacement pass. Replacement passes
are available at a cost of $15.00/ pass. Everyone visiting the pool will
need a valid pass to enter beginning on opening day.
Don’t forget that you
must also be current on your association dues in order to gain entry into
the pool yard. Contact Tina Strange at 301-694-6900 ext. 1010 for any
questions regarding your account. Payments may not be made at the Visitor’s
Center, as we are not equipped to handle money or checks.

Spring
Cleaning
As a continual reminder to ALL pet owners... please pick up after your
pets. No matter the season, this continues to be a problem. A few years
ago the Board of Directors had to contract someone to come out and pick
up your pets’ waste and the payment came out of your association
fees.
Leash Law
Remember to keep your pets on a leash at all times. Keep in mind that
though your pet may be obedient and lovable “the law is the law”.
Licenses
Frederick County requires all cats and dogs to be licensed. For your convenience
dog/cat tags may be purchased at the visitor center Mon.-Fri. 11am-5pm.
Remember to bring your rabies and vet information.
Adoption
Are you thinking about adding a new pet to your family? Visit www.Petfinder.org
to see all the wonderful animals available for adoption from the Frederick
County Animal Shelter. There are dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, hampsters
and guinea pigs too!
Volunteers
The animal shelter is always in need of volunteers. Please call Michelle
at 301-694-1319 if you are interested in volunteering your time and efforts
to the shelter.
Bulk Collection
Day!!
Frederick
County will supply a Bulk Collection Day for household furniture and appliances
only for residents of SPRING RIDGE on Thursday, May 1, 2003. Resident
must call the County between April 7-17, 2003 to sign up for collection

EARTH
DAY TEEN ACTIVITY....teens, here is your chance to help your community
during the day and have fun with your friends in the evening. We need
a core group of teens, and their parents, to plan this and other fun activities
for teens in the community. There will be a planning meeting on Saturday,
March 15th at 1 p.m. at the Visitor's Center. Snacks will be provided!
Hope to see you there! RSVP to me, Bonnie at 301-662-1868 or springridgerec@adelphia.net
by March 10th please.
T-BALL TIME AGAIN....T-ball
for ages 4-6 will begin on March 29th at the soccer fields and will last
for 6 weeks. Please pick up registration forms from the Visitor Center,
or download it from the Spring Ridge website. Bring this form, along with
the $10 registration fee, to the field on the 29th at 9 a.m. Practice
will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Contact Dorothy Ellis at 301-831-4353
with any questions.
FITNESS CLUB FORMING!... we
are trying to determine if there is interest in forming a fitness club.
This club would be all-inclusive: we will welcome all abilities...walking,
running, jogging...and all ages...from children, teens, 20's, 30's, 40's,
50's to seniors! Would you be interested in meeting some neighbors to
"get fit" and have fun? Sometimes it takes group work to motivate
us!!! If you are interested, please call me, Bonnie,at 301-662-1868 or
e-mail me at springridgerec@adelphia.net before March 24th so that we
can decide whether the club is a viable option for this community. We
have a lot of runners and walkers now, let's get organized! Please indicate
your preference in your call or e-mail: leisure running, walking, jogging,
competitive racing, strolling etc!
EASTER EGG HUNT...we need someone
to chair this traditionally favorite event of Spring Ridge children. It
will be held on April 19th, the day before Easter. If you are interested
in running this event, or helping to do so, please contact me, Bonnie,
at 301-662-1868 or springridgerec@adelphia.net.
Sadly, if no one volunteers, this event will not take place.
Just a reminder...our
next meeting is Monday, March 10th at 7 p.m. at the Visitor's Center.
We will be deciding on the budget, and trying to plan some other fun events
for the year! Come share your ideas!!! All are welcome!
Attention:
Single Family Home Owners
Please
remember, per your documents, it is YOUR responsibility to clear the sidewalks
and the mailbox path for your property. This is a vital part to keep everyone
safe from harm and to continue mail delivery. We have been advised by
the post office that if the mailbox has not been cleared enough for the
driver to drive up to the mailbox, the homeowners mail will not be delivered
and will have to be picked up at the post office.
All single family streets are
the county’s responsibility for snow removal. Any questions or concerns
should be directed to the county by calling 301-694-1564
