November 2002
Seasonal Decoration
Residents are reminded that seasonal decorations such as Christmas lights,
Thanksgiving window decals and the like are permitted, but not in the
common area. However, the decorations or holiday theme ornaments must
be removed within 30 days of the holiday.
Last Call
For Directory Updates
The 2003 Directory is in the final stages. All updates must be submitted
no later than November 30, 2002. Any NEW residents who wish to be included
need to fill out the form on the reverse side. If you are already listed
in the directory, but have changes please submit the form as well with
the corrections.
Reminder
As a pet owner, please remember to pick up after your pet(s) when walking
them. Be sure not to allow your pet(s) onto other homeowners property
to defecate or urinate in their yards. Also, Animal Control regulations
state that all dogs (friendly or not) must be on a leash when they are
on personal property.
Salvation
Army Food Drive
Once again Spring Ridge is working with the Salvation Army this holiday
season to provide non-perishable food for the hungry and needy in our
area. The Salvation Army barrel is located in the Visitor Center lobby.
Drop off your non-perishable food between 11am and 5pm Monday through
Friday. Please help out those less fortunate this holiday season.
New Trash
Hauler - New Pick Up Days
Pick up days will change to Mon. and Thurs.
(This affects only the single family and townhomes)
The new trash company,
Ecology Services Refuse Disposal, L.L.C., will start November 4, 2002.
Recycling will remain on Friday and will be done by another hauler (BFI).
The most important item to remember with the new hauler is that the days
of pick up will be Monday and Thursday.
The level of service
will not be diminished at all, in fact, the new hauler will provide a
few more services that will improve the community. Ecology will continue
to pick up 3 bags of yard waste each collection day, during the summer
months. Ecology will also pick up the trash from the containers at the
playground/recreational areas. Ecology will not pick up sod, rocks, bulk
trash, appliances, or construction debris.
Trash will not be picked up on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th.
General Rule of Thumb:
If a holiday falls on a Mon. or Thurs, trash will be picked up the next
scheduled trash day.

The Boys Scout
Troop #371 is having a “Scouting for Food Campaign” which
will begin on Saturday, November 9th. Troop 371 will be distributing grocery
bags door to door. Citizens of Frederick are asked to contribute food
products and non-perishable items in these grocery bags. These bags with
the food products will be collected off the door step by the Scouts the
morning of Nov. 16. All foods will be delivered to the food kitchens of
Frederick. The need is particularly severe this year. Over 51,000 bags
will be circulated by the Scouts in the Francis Scott Key District.
